Donation Policy
Arulmigu Sri Sudalai Maadan Religious and Charitable Trust gratefully accepts voluntary contributions from devotees, well-wishers and supporters who wish to assist our temple preservation, restoration and charitable initiatives.
Purpose of Donations
Donations received by the Trust may be used to support approved activities including temple construction, renovation and restoration, materials and professional expertise, community-support initiatives and other religious or charitable activities undertaken in accordance with the Trust’s objectives.
Project-Specific Donations
Where a donation is made for a specific approved temple project or purpose, the Trust will make reasonable efforts to use the contribution for that intended purpose, subject to project verification, feasibility, actual requirements and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Where circumstances materially affect a project, the Trust may communicate an appropriate alternative use or next step to the donor where reasonably practicable.
Transparency & Accountability
The Trust is committed to responsible management of contributions. Appropriate records of donations and project expenditure will be maintained, and project updates may be communicated through the website or other official Trust channels.
Donation Receipts
Where applicable, donors may receive an acknowledgement or receipt for their contribution. Donors should provide accurate information when a receipt or other required record is requested.
Tax Benefits
Any tax deduction or exemption associated with a donation will be available only where the Trust holds the required approval and the particular donation qualifies under applicable law. Donors should not assume that every donation automatically qualifies for a tax deduction. The Income Tax Department notes that Section 80G deductions apply to qualifying donations to eligible funds or institutions and are subject to statutory conditions.
Refunds & Cancellations
Donations are generally voluntary and intended to support the Trust’s religious and charitable activities. If a donation has been made in error, duplicated, or an incorrect amount has been transferred, the donor should contact the Trust as soon as possible.
Any refund request will be reviewed individually, taking into account whether the funds have already been allocated or utilised and any applicable payment-processing or legal requirements.
Online Payments
Where donations are accepted through an online payment gateway, bank or other third-party payment service, transactions may also be subject to that provider’s terms, privacy policy and processing procedures.
The Trust is not responsible for interruptions or technical issues arising solely from third-party payment systems.
Donor Information & Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with donations will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and used for appropriate purposes such as donation acknowledgement, communication, accounting and regulatory record-keeping.
Responsible Use of Funds
The Trust seeks to ensure that contributions are used responsibly and in furtherance of its religious and charitable objectives. Indian tax rules contain specific requirements concerning voluntary contributions and corpus donations to charitable or religious trusts.
Changes to This Policy
The Trust may update this Donation Policy when necessary to reflect changes in its activities, donation processes or applicable requirements. The latest version will be published on this website.
